Rumour: New PlayStation Subscription Will Give Access to PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP Games

Service will have “tiers”.

A new report from Bloomberg says that Sony is planning a to launch a new subscription service that merges PS Plus and PS Now. It’s potentially huge news for the PlayStation Nation (yes, we’re still writing that), but there are some finer details in the report that make for some very interesting reading.

The report says that this new service — codenamed ‘Spartacus’ — will offer three separate subscription tiers. The first includes all of your existing PS Plus benefits. The second adds a library of PS4, and eventually, PS5 games. The third tier, however, is the one that deserves your attention. Supposedly, it will include extended demos, game streaming… and access to PS1, PS2, PS3, and even PSP titles. Yes, you read that right.
